Where dreams go to work!
This is a group to discuss any ideas about our monthly mixers. We can come up with discussion topics for the mixers. If anyone would like to organize a mixer you can put your postings here. Lets work together to get the most out of our mixers.

The Panoramic Views Of Our First Hawaii Film Industry Symposium
The Hawaii Film Industry Symposium. Speakers (far right to left): George Russell, Cinematographer; Titus Chong, Producer (behind column, sorry); with Actors, Joji Yoshida and Lew Lappert.
Aloha Y'all:
Although, our First Hawaii Film Industry Symposium, had a some twists and turns (just like my photo), it had a great deal of information for all to absorb, and assist in our craft of acting for masses.
Mahalo to all the organizers and speakers, for making this possible; and all the participates who sponged it all up, for a better auditioning future in your career.
Let us all help to build a better working film industry in Hawaii.
See you at the next one... and yes, I hope it is at The Crown, again! (I like the free "Happy Hour" Parking.)
Mahalo nui loa,
Jerald
It may be too late for this Saturday's event, but you should really consider getting an article written in the Star Advertiser about it. THey often write about TV and movie productions here in Hawaii and I bet they'd be open to an article about all the actors we have here and how they're working together to advance the acting arts and the local TV and movie industry.
Just a note to clarify the name change from The HAM (Mixer) to
The Hawaii Film Industry Symposium. The reason for the change is to not only have our fellow actors join us in our monthly get together, but we want to invite all film industry people to join us as well. Our next meeting is this Saturday at 4:00 pm at THE CROWN, (formally the Hard Rock Cafe') It is located on the corner of Kalakaua and Kapiolani Blvd. There is ample parking in the rear. You also may bring your children. We have 4 Special Guest joining us as well. So have your questions answered by the people that know all about this fantastic industry. Special Guest Speakers are: George Russell (Cinematographer), Titus Chong (Producer), Actors, Joji Yoshida and Lew Lappert. Please RSVP to Brenda Hillebrenner at: brendaleehillebrenner@yahoo.com
SEE YOU SATURDAY!
It appears that the announcements regarding the upcoming Mixer are only going out to the members of this Mixer group and perhaps one or two other HAN groups. That means that the overwhelming majority of members of the Hawaii Actors Network, throughout all the numerous groups and subgroups are NOT getting the word about these absolutely wonderful mixers.
Surely there is someone in charge of the HAN in general who could see to it that sufficient and timely announcements are sent out to ALL members of HAN. It is to the benefit of ALL members of HAN that they hear about and have the opportunity to attend these mixers.
Please, could someone see to it that everyone gets properly advised of the Mixers?
Thank you.
People seem to be confused about the purpose of this particular group on the Hawaii Actors Network. A recent email was sent out to all members of this Mixer group seeking a camera person to help with video-taping. Sorry, but that's not the purpose of this group. If you're seeking talent of some kind you need to find the appropriate OTHER group for that.
THIS group, the Hawaii Actors Mixer group, is strictly for those people who want to help out with organizing and hosting mixers.
