Where dreams go to work!
You will be playing someone's dinner date, sitting across a posh restaurant table from a camera. Your date has an unusual fetish. You are trying to get them all hot and bothered during the course of dinner, so you talk about it. The scene will be an unbroken monologue, maybe as much as 10 minutes, so you need to be comfortable memorizing several pages.
This is an experimental piece, so it doesn't pay much ($100). No nudity, but it will be distributed on fetish sites. You'll need to sign both a standard release and a 2257 so no minors. Shoot date and time are flexible. Contact me for a script outtake. Both your voice and look are important, so please record a short demo piece (phone recording is fine) or we can schedule a video call.
interesting. would you be paid for the post to the sites? I mean, is it a money-making deal for the producer, etc.? would the actors then receive any sort of compensation in future?
It is planned as a commercial product, so yes, it will be offered for sale. I don't expect to break even, but hope springs eternal!
Much longer answer:
The internet is flooded with content that is much more graphic while being reasonably priced. Even for the niche I'm aiming at, there are half-a-dozen professional producers and dozens of amateurs. The market of people willing to buy "teasing-about-your-fetish-but-not-actually-showing-you-anything" is pretty small, and the amount they are willing to pay is also pretty small. Let's say I price this at $5, which seems high for a "you-don't-get-to-see-anything" video, but makes for easy math.
Now, UMD.net is one of the places I will host this. They keep 30% of all sales, so that $5 is now $3.50. Transferring that to PayPal costs 2.9% plus a flat $0.30, so that $3.50 is down to $3.09. If I can bring this project in at $200 (which is my goal), then I don't break even until the 65th sale.
So, no, I'm not offering any future compensation. I'm offering the stipend because I believe in compensating people for their time, even though I acknowledge this is pretty anemic compensation. I suppose if some optimistic actor were to waive the stipend, asking instead for a percentage, I'd go halvsies, but I'd feel pretty guilty about it. On my first foray into the "not-quite-a-fetish-video" scene, I spent $350, and recovered $277.49.
I'm so glad to hear that you're offering a stipend (I'm not really right for the project, but I do take an interest in casting notice which I forward to my friends and students) hope to meet you some time soon -- at some HFC event or other
THANKS for taking time to respond --
