Aloha Hawaii's Film industry,
We are excited to send you a message from Katie Doyle. We're looking forward to seeing everyone at the casting call. Time to get some work. YAY!
We have been busy in pre-production and have finally settled on Sunday, June 2 as the day to hold an Open Casting Call for a major motion picture filming on Oahu this Summer.  We look forward to hiring hundreds of local people for this one - extras AND about 18 "featured" background artists or day players who have a line or two.
Seeking many different types and especially need REAL MILITARY and MILITARY TYPES and their families for several important scenes.
(If someone really can't make the open call they can mail their contact phone number(s), along with a headshot and resume, to the same address.  They should put ATTENTION: CASTING OFFICE on envelope.  BUT we REALLY want to see people in person....)
Thanks soo much -   KD
HAN members,
If you are having transportation issues for that day, please go to theHAN Carpool group and post in the comments box that you will need a ride. If you're able to offer a ride to a HAN member, also go check the HAN Carpool group to see if there is anyone that need a ride. Anything we can do to help each other, helps build the future of Hawaii's film Industry.
You can also find this information in the Currently Casting Group onHAN.
Please share with others that may also be interested in working on this production. The more choices we can give the production, the more they will hire locally. Time to show them what we got. We're ready! Make us proud HAN members.

  • Aloha,

I work as a volunteer with O'ahu Fringe Festival, a performing arts festival hosted here on the island of O'ahu in the Chinatown district of Honolulu. We are fiscally sponsored by Hawaii Arts Alliance and look forward to continuing to serve our community. This year we are celebrating our third year of the Fringe Festival. At this time, we are seeking artists for our Fringe Festival. We are accepting applications from acts until Sunday July 28, 2013. The festival itself runs from November 7- 10, 2013 in various venues in the Chinatown area. We welcome innovative acts related to various styles of performing arts including, but not limited to theatre, dance, comedy, and improv. Artists can apply by visitinghttp://www.oahufringe.com/artists/. We appreciate any help you can offer in announcing the opening of our application.

I have attached a copy of our press release announcing the application opening. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Aloha,

The Casting Directors for the television shows and commercials based in Hawaii are all requesting actors for their auditions who have acting skills. This is your chance to prepare your child for their next audition. If you want your child to be selected for a principal role in a major production, it is important that they perfect their acting skills. "Hawaii Five-0" is currently filming in Hawaii and there have been commercial auditions recently, too.

Well Known Casting Director, Margaret Doversola, will be having a Children's Acting and Audition Workshop for Film and Television. Margaret will focus on audition preparation and working with scripts for television and film. Participants must be 7 to 14 years old and must be able to read. Attendance is limited, so please make your reservation early by calling Nancy Bernal at 947-5736 or e-mailing her at NancyBernal@aol.com (These workshops sell out quickly!) The fee for this workshop is $50.00 per person. The location is at the Manoa Marketplace (address provided below).

Fee: $50.00 (Payments must be received in advance to reserve your spot in the workshop. You can mail your payment to: Nancy Bernal, 2444 Hihiwai Street #905, Honolulu, HI 96826 and make payments payable to Nancy Bernal. Please mail your payments in early.)

Jordan Segundo (Hawaii's First "American Idol" Contestant - Season Two and Professional Singer and Actor) will be a Special Guest Speaker for this Acting Workshop.

If your child attended Margaret's Workshop in the past and you would like them to attend this workshop again, they can attend again! Each workshop is different and is a great preparation for actors and it sharpens their acting skills.

If you have any questions, please contact Nancy at 947-5736. If you know of anyone who may be interested in attending this workshop, you are welcome to pass along this information to other aspiring young actors.

Thank you!
